Pilates - Taught as a System
Pilates at Element 8 is approached as a connected method rather than a collection of exercises or formats. Each session builds on clear principles, allowing you to understand how movements relate and progress over time.
By building Pilates into your weekly schedule and practising it regularly you can reduce your risk of injury or posture-related pain, as well as improve your body awareness and understanding of how your body moves. Whether you are suffering muscular aches and pains, poor posture, or just want to strengthen your core to achieve your fitness goals, Pilates can help.
This approach supports you to:
• Build strength without unnecessary strain
• Improve mobility, coordination and balance
• Develop confidence in how your body moves
• Adapt your practice as your body changes
Working within a system creates continuity and structure, making your movement practice both purposeful and sustainable.
“Your classes were so well delivered…. it felt like it was just me and you in the room and I didn't feel self conscious at all.”
— Julie H
Integrated Health That Supports the Whole Picture
Movement does not exist in isolation.
Element 8 integrates knowledge of nutrition, gut health and naturopathic practice to support the wider context of your wellbeing. This perspective becomes particularly valuable from the lead up to midlife onwards, when recovery, energy and resilience may begin to shift.
Health support is offered in a clear and individual way, designed to complement Pilates rather than complicate it.

• Want training designed for your body
• Are managing injury or physical change
• Are navigating perimenopause or menopause
• Want Pilates to support wider health goals
Sessions take place in my private home studio.
Classes
Small group classes are taught with the same system based and considered approach that underpins all work at Element 8. Sessions follow a clear and progressive structure, allowing you to understand how the exercises connect and build over time.
Whether you are new to Pilates or developing an established practice, classes support steady progression, balanced strength and confidence in how your body moves.
Why Element 8 Pilates?
Structured & Progressive
Pilates is taught as a coherent system, with each session building intentionally on the last. This creates clarity, continuity and meaningful progression rather than isolated workouts.
Flexible Ways to Work
Sessions are available in person and online, allowing you to maintain consistency even when life is busy. The structure remains the same, whether you work one to one or in a small group.
Personalised & Adaptive
Guidance is provided throughout so you can work appropriately for your body, experience and stage of life. Progression is adjusted to support change rather than push through it.
Strength That Lasts
The aim is not intensity for its own sake, but durable strength, resilience and confidence in movement that supports you over time.
Classes to suit you.
Beginners.
Introducing the Pilates mat system in a clear and progressive way, these sessions support those new to Pilates or returning after a break. Emphasis is placed on understanding how the exercises connect and build, with careful guidance to develop confidence, control and steady progression from the outset.
Conditioning.
Complementing the mat system through the considered use of small equipment, these sessions enhance coordination, strength and movement awareness. Tools such as the ball, band or light weights are used to deepen understanding and support balanced progression rather than to increase intensity.
Classic.
Following the structure of the original mat system, these sessions allow time to refine set-up and technique. Attention to detail and unhurried pacing create space for precision, while ongoing adjustments support appropriate challenge and continued development within a group setting.
Rehabilitation.
Applying the Pilates system within a personalised setting, these sessions begin with an extended consultation to understand individual movement history and goals. Tailored progression supports focused development and is particularly valuable when navigating injury, physical change or specific objectives.
Dynamic.
Extending the mat system through greater continuity and flow, these sessions suit those with an established practice. Clarity and control remain central while exploring a broader range of exercises, with guidance throughout to ensure progression supports individual capability and long-term development.
Corporate.
Bringing the Pilates system into the workplace in an accessible format, these sessions are structured to support a range of abilities. Delivered online or in person, they provide a practical way to encourage movement, resilience and sustained wellbeing within the working day.
